The largest stage race in America landed in Bariloche following three successful editions in the south of Neuquén.

This year, Cerro Catedral was the starting point for the 21st edition of El Cruce Saucony, which has the participation of more than 4,500 runners representing 49 countries and divided into four groups.

El Cruce was born in 2002 with the objective of uniting Argentina with Chile by crossing the Andes mountain range for 3 days. It was the first adventure competition that brought together more than 300 participants, crossing mountains and sharing crowded camps. An adventure full of experience and competition, where the teamwork of two adventurers was measured.

The competition does not last just a few hours, like most, but takes place over 3 days and involves running almost 100 km of mountain, crossing the most varied terrain, crossing various landscapes such as forests, volcanoes, streams and lakes, facing adverse climates and ascending and descending steep slopes.

The excellent logistics of the race allow us to set up camps immersed in the mountain nature. There is permanent assistance to the runners.

The snowy mountains guarantee a unique experience and a challenge for runners who are already running trails that reach 2,000 meters above sea level.

With the idea of ​​running across the mountain range and uniting Argentina with Chile, this adventure race divided into three stages was born. Its first edition was in Los Penitentes in Mendozacrossing the Cristo Redentor pass and arriving at Portillo in Chile, with 124 participants.

Giant dining tents, hydration and four meals a day, a menu that includes meats, pastas, salads and stews, options for vegans, vegetarians and celiacs, toilets that stand out for their cleanliness and a climate of cordiality, are the components of this internationally renowned event.
