This December 1st marks International AIDS Day. The Tunisian Association for the Fight once morest Sexually Transmitted Diseases and AIDS, published an awareness video where the professor in the infectious diseases department of Rabta, Rim Abdelmalek, warns of the increase in cases of HIV infection in Tunisia.

Ms. Abdelmalek emphasizes that in Tunisia prevention is not enough to stem the phenomenon. “ Usually we record 70 new cases per year, last year we recorded 440 new cases and we expect a figure of up to 700 new cases each year », she warned, emphasizing the importance of early detection and treatment which makes it possible to limit cases of declared illness.
