Some Apple customers who purchased the iPhone 15 Pro Max in the UK are complaining on the brand’s official forum following receiving wrong orders. In these packages, some found models prior to the one purchased, such as the iPhone 14 Pro Max, and even, in some more drastic cases, even fake iPhones that ran Android.
Consumers claim that Apple is reluctant to replace or refund, claiming that the delivery details were correct and therefore the order was properly delivered. The company has been criticized for its chat service, accused of assuming fraud on the part of customers instead of recognizing them as victims of a scam.
Such was the problem via official customer service that a dissatisfied customer, codenamed Chris-J-88, decided to contact Apple CEO Tim Cook directly via email. Following her complaint, a representative from Apple’s European office contacted her, reviewed the case, and confirmed that the incorrect device had been replaced, which was delivered the very next day.
“An Apple rep told me it’s impossible that they put the 14 in there by mistake, so it must have been switched following shipping,” the user said. “My concern is that they contacted the shipping company and said that no one on their side touched this, so Apple is concluding that I must be responsible for the attempted fraud.”
It is still not known where the errors came from and, with doubts falling on the delivery process. The complaints raise questions regarding the integrity of Apple’s distribution system in the UK.
