Brucknerhaus Linz: The Linz Concert Club let the spark of joy spread to the audience

The traditional autumn concert of the Linz Concert Association took place in the Brucknerhaus on Wednesday. An evening that represents a great challenge for most musicians, because the concert club is an amateur orchestra in which most people take part for the pure joy of making music. The only reward was the applause from the large audience, which was mostly friendly. The program, which Michael Wahlmüller rehearsed and conducted, included works from the Viennese classical period, which gave the two soloists Anna-Katharina Tittgen (violin) and Gerda Fritzsche (viola) a lot of space to develop.

Balanced sound

During Mozart’s overture to “La clemenza di Tito”, Michael Wahlmüller set a very steady tempo, but still created a lot of effect and, above all, a balanced sound. The second part was dedicated to Beethoven’s mostly underestimated 8th Symphony, which represents a great challenge in many respects. Here, too, the basic mood was carefully but quickly enough captured, although not every passage was rhythmically precisely worked out and flawlessly intoned, but with a lot of joy and enthusiasm they convinced the audience of the necessity of such ensembles. Not everyone has the talent to be a top musician, but everyone has the right to live out their enthusiasm. And the Linzer Konzertverein is still the right address. (wruss)

Conclusion: Great praise for the intensive commitment of the enthusiastic hobby musicians.
