Vienna – The increased costs for starting school and everyday school life are putting parents under pressure. This is shown by a current interim survey from the Sora school cost study for the Chamber of Labor (AK), in which 2,500 households regularly document all school-related costs for a year. For 60 percent, these expenses are very or somewhat burdensome. In households at risk of poverty the figure is even 86 percent. The families therefore have to make compromises.
