CD Projekt revealed its financial results for the third quarter of the year this Tuesday (28) and it is possible to note, in the numbers, the success of the Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077. Totaling 4.3 million copies, the expansion not only boosted the game, but also played a crucial role in ensuring that the quarter was the best period in the Polish company’s history.
The producer shared an estimated linkage rate of 20%, highlighting that Phantom Liberty is not available for PS4 or Xbox One — it is exclusive to new generations, with PS5, Xbox Series X|S, in addition to PC.
CD Projekt Red’s third-quarter profitability reached 51.1%. In addition to the financial results, the report also mentions the Ultimate Edition of Cyberpunk 2077 and a new version of The Witcher game.
Although the arrival of an Ultimate Edition for Cyberpunk 2077 is not surprising, CD Projekt Red had already announced, regarding ten days ago, the debut of the Phantom Liberty expansion in physical support, marking the first physical version of the complete game for the last generations of consoles. The edition will include the original game and the expansion, available digitally and physically from December 5th.
This version represents an important milestone in the game’s history, possibly indicating an end point for CD Projekt’s planned expansions for Cyberpunk 2077. The financial report also suggests that the company may be considering new features for The Witcher, fueling fan expectations regarding the future of these emblematic titles.
