The Kuchler northern bald ibis, which got lost in Sweden, is stuck in the cold and snow. The rescue operation is stalling due to a lack of permits.
The situation is currently “somewhat hopeless,” sighs Corinna Esterer from the Waldrapp team in Kuchl. “As soon as the snow cover is continuous and the ground is frozen day and night, the northern bald ibis starves to death within a few days.”
