Mumbai: Virat Kohli, the top scorer in the ODI Cricket World Cup, will be away from the ODI and T20 formats for the time being. It is indicated that he has informed the BCCI that it is enough to consider him only for the Test team for the Indian team’s tour of South Africa.

The tour starting in December consists of three ODIs, T20Is and two Tests each. Test matches follow white ball formats.

Kohli scored 765 runs from 11 innings in the World Cup. It included three centuries. Kohli is currently holidaying with his family in London.

Meanwhile, it is not yet clear whether captain Rohit Sharma will feature in the white-ball formats of the tour of South Africa starting on December 10. Rohit is also in UK following the World Cup.

It is reported that BCCI Secretary Jai Shah will soon hold discussions with Rohit Sharma and Selection Committee Chairman Ajit Agarkar regarding the future plans of the Indian team.
