Week 12 of the NFL is in the books, and several former Cyclones made a big impact for their teams.

Brock Purdy and David Montgomery took center stage on Thanksgiving, with both shining brightly in victories. Black Friday, though, didn’t go so well for the New York Jets’ Iowa State trio, who continue to fight through this tough season.

Here are how all ex-Cyclones did this week.

Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers QB

The 49ers are firmly back on track with their third straight win, blowing by the Seattle Seahawks with a 31-13 rout.

Purdy finished 21-for-30 passing for 209 yards with one touchdown and an interception, while also adding three carries for one yard. He hit Brandon Aiyuk for a 28-yard TD pass in the fourth quarter to cement this Thanksgiving blowout.

Purdy and San Francisco sit tied with the Detroit Lions for the NFC’s No. 2 seed, both two games behind conference leader Philadelphia. The Eagles and 49ers are set to meet this Sunday.

David Montgomery, Detroit Lions RB

Detroit suffered a stunning 29-22 Thanksgiving loss to the Green Bay Packers, but Montgomery still had a decent showing.

The former Iowa State running back had 15 carries for 71 yards and a touchdown, scoring on a six-yard run early in the third quarter to pull Detroit within nine. Montgomery and the Lions will look to get back on track Sunday once morest the New Orleans Saints.

Anthony Johnson Jr., Green Bay Packers S

Another player who shined on Thanksgiving, Johnson Jr. had a huge hang in slowing down the Lions’ high-powered offense.

The former Iowa State defensive back racked up eight tackles, seven of them solo, along with a pass defended. It was a career-high in tackles for the former seventh-round pick, who has 12 tackles over his last two games following having just two prior.
