Russia thwarts Ukrainian attempt at mass drone attack on Moscow and other regions – news

Russian anti-aircraft defenses shot down several Ukrainian drones in the regions of Moscow, Tula, Kaluga and Bryansk, late Saturday night (25), the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

In the first attempted attack, the Ministry released a statement stating that Russia’s anti-aircraft defense systems had destroyed at least 11 unmanned aerial vehicles.

“An attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack using aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles once morest targets on the territory of the Russian Federation has been disrupted.

Air defense systems in service destroyed 11 UAVs on the territory of Moscow, Tula, Kaluga and Bryansk regions,” the ministry said.

In the early hours of Sunday, another drone was shot down heading towards Moscow with no reports of destruction or casualties following the debris fell, said the mayor of the Russian capital, Sergei Sobyanin.

At least nine drones were shot down in these regions in the second attack attempt.

In Tula, a house was hit without serious damage and one person was slightly injured. In the morning, anti-aircraft defense shot down two Ukrainian MiG-29 aircraft in the Dnepropetrovsk region and also destroyed 18 unmanned aerial vehicles, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

In the direction of Kupyansk, the Russian Army repelled two attacks by Ukrainian forces, up to 110 opposing soldiers, two vehicles and two howitzers, D-20 and D-30, were eliminated.

Russian troops destroyed two Ukrainian depots of attack air weapons at military airfields, the Russian military body reported.
