“Cyclists are suitcases”: Steyr local councilor apologizes for her statements

Today we have to go out to save the honor of a local councilor. Rosa Hieß has even achieved dubious notoriety throughout Austria with her strong statements in an interview regarding cycling. Anyone who knows the SP mandate knows that she wears her heart on her sleeve and rarely minces her words. This time Hieß has of course overshot the mark.

“Rosa Hieß has been working wholeheartedly as a local councilor for more than 20 years. Until now, she has been considered an exemplary, committed personality who makes positive contributions to our city,” says Katrin Auer, SP district chairwoman and environmental councilor. According to Auer, the apology is guaranteed to be taken honestly. She hopes that the councilor’s apology will be accepted.
