CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men’s squash team has a busy week ahead of it as it will take on Dartmouth and Virginia to close out its pre-finals schedule. The Crimson (2-0, 1-0 Ivy) will battle the Big Green at the Murr Center Squash Courts this Wednesday (Nov. 29) before traveling to Charlottesville to battle the Cavaliers (Dec. 2). Match times are set for 5:00 PM and 12:00 PM, respectively.
WHAT TO KNOW
The Crimson opened the season with a pair of 9-0 wins over Northeastern (Nov. 14) and Brown (Nov. 15).
Harvard did not fall in a single set in the sweeps, posting a perfect 54-0 record through the two games.
The Crimson remain the no. 2 team in the CSA rankings entering the match.
Dartmouth enters the contest with a 1-0 record and a no. 10 national ranking.
The Crimson leads the all-time series with the Big Green, 82-1 and the past three matches have all ended in 9-0 Harvard victories.
Virginia has posted a 2-4 record early this season and enters the match ranked no. 8.
Harvard is a perfect 4-0 once morest UVA and 3-0 dating back to 2020.
The Crimson has defeated the Cavaliers by a combined score of 25-2 in the three recent meetings.
This will be the first time the Crimson has traveled to Charlottesville to take on the Cavaliers.
Senior captains Ido Burstein and Tate Harms began the season with strong results, posting a 3-0 combined record.
First-years Omar Azzam, Jacob Lin and Louis Murray all also impressed in the Crimson’s first two matches, combining to post five wins.
UP NEXT
The Crimson will take a brief pause for finals and the holidays before returning for the 2024 portion of its match schedule. Harvard will play nine matches in January and February, kicking off the run with a tilt once morest the MIT Engineers on Jan. 11.
