After Saints Row: The Third, Volition seemed to have forgotten what made the series popular in the first place, with neither Saints Row IV nor Saints Row: Gat out of Hell being commercial hits. This led to a seven-year hiatus for the series until the Saints Row reboot was released last year – but it failed in almost every way, and ultimately led to Embracer shutting down developer Volition as part of their ongoing restructuring. But according to YouTuber mrsaintsgodzilla21, things might be very different. Volition is reportedly looking to return to the series’ basics with a game more in line with Saints Row 2, featuring characters like Aisha, Dex, Pierce, Shaundi, and, of course, Johnny Gat. The game was meant to be more grounded, but still has the over-the-top moments we love regarding the series. Unfortunately, publisher Deep Silver didn’t like the idea and changed direction quite a bit from the actual development. This ultimately led to last year’s somewhat washed-out and damaged reboot. Even though Volition is gone, the publisher has said we’ll be getting more D57ed61ec13604d0c93c753f473c27444 in the future. Let’s hope they go back to Volition’s original ideas for the game, because it certainly sounds like something fans would enjoy – or what do you think? Thanks, GamingBolt.
