Willington: As the world prepares for Christmas, young people in New Zealand are preparing to welcome Jesus by preparing 100 hours of unbroken Bible reading (chain Bible reading) day and night. From November 29th to December 3rd, all chapters from Genesis to Revelation will be read in the unbroken Bible reading organized through the Zoom application. Akhand Bible reading is organized under the leadership of Syro Malabar Youth Movement (SMYM).
Bishop Mar John will inaugurate the Akhanda Bible reading by reading the Bible at 6.30 pm New Zealand time on the 29th. Everyone read the Bible for half an hour. Akhanda Bible recitation is organized to include all family members of all ages along with the youth.
The goal of this initiative is to prepare young people and families to grow up grounded in God’s word in a world where the deadly sins of abortion and same-sex marriage are rampant and darkness is spreading. Syro Malabar Church New Zealand National Coordinator Fr. Organizers also say that the initiative is getting a lot of encouragement from priests including Joseph VJ CSSR, youth and families.

Online meditations, webinars, rosary prayers, prolife classes, charity activities, parish to parish one day conventions, career guidance classes to help new arrivals, Bible projects, blood donation campaign, food fests for charity work, parish to parish prayer meetings, anti abortion heavenly marriage, living together The Syro-Malabar Youth Movement of New Zealand is spearheading awareness classes and several projects to ensure youth participation in all parish activities.
