[딜사이트 이보라 기자] Cho Yong-byeong, former chairman of Shinhan Financial Group, was appointed as the 15th chairman of the Korea Federation of Banks.

The Korea Federation of Banks held a general meeting on the 27th and announced that former Shinhan Financial Group Chairman Cho Yong-byeong was unanimously elected as the next chairman of the Korea Federation of Banks. On the 16th, Chairman Cho was recommended as the sole candidate.

Chairman Cho will begin his three-year term on the 1st of next month. Chairman Cho was born in 1957 and graduated from Daejeon High School and Korea University Department of Law. Chairman Cho joined Shinhan Bank in 1984 and served as the New York branch manager, vice president of the retail division, president of Shinhan BNP Paribas Asset Management, and president of Shinhan Bank. He later led Shinhan Financial Holding for six years from 2017 to March of this year.
