Latam Brasil announced new adjustments to its route network in Rio de Janeiro, Galeão, following the technical and positive decision of the Ministry of Ports and Airports (MPOR), which revoked on November 8 the distance limit for flights at Santos Dumont airport , which was impacting the company’s planning for all flights from Rio de Janeiro.
At Galeão airport, Latam will maintain the adjustments to other operations from January 2024, as previously announced, as well as the inauguration of the Galeão – Manaus, Galeão – Recife and Galeão – Natal routes; the maintenance of its international Galeão flights to Buenos Aires (Argentina), Lima (Peru) and Santiago (Chile); in addition to contributions from its joint venture with Delta Air Lines.
In total there will be 42 weekly flights to Guarulhos, 21 to Santiago, 14 to Brasília, Fortaleza, Porto Alegre, Salvador and Vitória, 7 to Foz do Iguaçu, Recife, Porto Seguro, Buenos Aires and Lima, 3 to Natal and 2 to Manaus.
From December 2023 to March 2024, Delta will operate the seasonal Galeão-New York route, in addition to making the Galeão-Atlanta route regular starting next month.
As a final balance, Latam maintains the 5% increase in its total offer (ASK) of seats (domestic and international) throughout Rio de Janeiro, when compared to the company’s operation in the capital of Rio de Janeiro in the first quarter of 2023 with the operation scheduled for the same period in 2024.
