Helena Fürst has already caused a number of scandals on television – but now she is making headlines with sad news: she has a tumor in her head.
Berlin – Helena Fürst (49) became famous on TV as a “lawyer for the poor” – but then made a “career” as a reality TV star. In the RTL Jungle Camp, in “The Summer House of the Stars” and in many other programs, she primarily caused drama. Recently, however, things have become quiet regarding the TV actress. Now she reveals the sad reason why.
“I looked into the abyss”: Helena Fürst speaks for the first time regarding her brain tumor
A brain tumor was discovered in Helena Fürst in 2020, of all things as part of a TV show. Like her opposite n-tv explains that a routine MRI was done in 2020 before celebrity boxing – a benign meningioma was discovered. The trained business economist had not had any complaints up to that point, but the symptoms appeared shortly followingwards and violently.

“There were days when the pressure was so bad that I thought my skull would burst. I had immense difficulty speaking, severe paralysis at times and might barely see. “I dealt with death and the fact that I might not survive,” she recalls of the worst phases. She literally fought for her life – and no longer thought regarding trivial things. “I looked into the abyss,” she admits.
That’s why surgery was out of the question for Helena Fürst
She is especially strong for her daughter, who gives her the courage to keep fighting. But an operation was never an option, as Helena Fürst explains. “No doctor might assure me that he might get even part of the tumor out of my head without damage. […] A small cut and I would be paralyzed or even dead,” she says. Because she had to take cortisone for treatment, among other things, her face became swollen, for which she was strongly condemned and even insulted from all sides.

Today, Helena Fürst can breathe a sigh of relief – at least a little. Although her tumor has not disappeared, it has shrunk significantly thanks to individual therapy. She also has the certainty that she does not have a mental illness, but rather physical problems. This makes her feel better. “Although it was very stressful for me, especially following the diagnosis,” as she emphasizes. She also recently mightn’t fulfill one big wish: Helena Fürst wanted to go to “Celebrity Big Brother”, but was rejected. Sources used: n-tv.de
