The Cuban financial institution Fincimex announced in the last few hours new discounts for purchases with its AIS cards. In this article we tell you everything you need to know.
What are AIS cards? AIS (American International Service) cards are a type of debit card issued by Fincimex. They are denominated in Cuban pesos and dollars.
AIS USD cards:
They are green and their number begins with 9560. You can use them in Cuban stores that sell in MLC (Freely Convertible Currency) and in stores in Cuban pesos. You can withdraw money in CUP at ATMs, banks, and CADECA offices.
AIS CUP cards
They are blue and their numbering begins with 9550. For payments in stores in CUP and not in MLC stores. Extraction in Cuban pesos.
AIS NO CASH cards
They are also blue and their number begins with 955002. The only available way to recharge this card is by sending money online, so it will not be possible to deposit money on it through other means. Does not accept cash withdrawal. They must have the text “No Cash” printed at the top.
Now that you know which card we are talking regarding, we tell you that Fincimex is offering discounts on its cards this weekend.
FINCIMEX AIS CARDS DISCOUNTS
“Offer: 5% discount in Cimex and Caribe stores during November 25 and 26”, they communicated via Facebook.
One of the platforms in agreement with Fincimex has echoed this promotion:
“Discounts are back on AIS USD Cards. Save your money. This bonus is now available, and will be throughout the weekend in stores in the MLC of CIMEX and Tiendas Caribe. Remember that you can request and recharge AIS USD cards from anywhere in the world through www.tocopay.com“, they reported.
These types of cards already have less preference on the island, as they can only be recharged by sending money online. Furthermore, they have not been able to integrate with Cuban banks through the Transfermóvil application.
More than three years ago, the Cuban financial company announced that it was working together with the Cuban Telecommunications Company to be able to associate its cards with the main electronic commerce application on the island. “The integration process has been complex, however, we hope to soon be able to announce it,” she promised in March 2021.
