For the Zibelmärit on Monday, November 27, Mary-Christine Christinat prepared more than 300 onion braids in Chabrey.

“I like them to spread out a little, but not to have a V shape.” With a piece of wood as a support in her left hand, Mary-Christine Christinat takes turns picking red Swiss or white Savoie onions, placed loose in vegetable crates. With dexterity and speed, she assembles everything using a string before starting the operation once more. In a few minutes, four longitudinal rows are formed, always with one onion a little larger than the previous one. And here is yet another braid of onions ready to be placed with its fellows.
