Yesterday, Saudi driver Yazid Al Rajhi topped the first stage of the Qassim Rally, accompanied by his German navigator Timo Gottschalk, in a Toyota Hilux.
Al Rajhi won the title of the first and second editions of the Qassim Rally in 2019 and 2022.
The rally lasts for three days in two stages, divided into three selective, speed-controlled sections, with a total distance of 650 kilometres.
The second stage will take place today in Al-Madhnab Governorate, with a speed-controlled distance of 121 kilometres. After that, the rally’s closing ceremony and cup distribution will be held in Qassim National Park at 07:30 pm.
For his part, Al-Rajhi explained in a statement, saying: “Participating in the Qassim Rally is not just a sporting challenge, but rather an opportunity to give our best and test our abilities in the face of different terrains and intense competition. We are fully prepared for this challenge. This race is… “An excellent training experience to prepare for the Dakar Rally, which is very exciting.”
