Christmas trees have become more expensive once more this year. However, the fir trees are still a long way from being priceless. Nevertheless, on the night of Thursday to Friday, a previously unknown person decided to take the tree from the Bad Ischl climbing hall with him rather than buy one himself.
The Nature Friends of Bad Ischl actually wanted to decorate the fir tree on Friday for visitors during the Christmas season. “We wanted to make children happy and fill the tree with sweets, which is unfortunately no longer possible,” they say.
The “Grinch” was filmed during the unusual theft. The Nature Friends are therefore making an offer to restore Christmas peace: “We would ask the perpetrator to bring the tree back or simply donate the value of the tree.”
