The start of the general strike at CFR SA, announced for Monday by the National Federation of Railway Commercial Wagon Movement, has been postponed by two days, the trade unionists announced. The leaders of the mentioned federation signed an agreement in this regard on Friday with the administration of the National Railway Company CFR SA. According to the last provision of the agreement signed by trade unionists with the management of CNCF CFR SA, the start of the strike will be postponed until November 29, 2023, at 14:00.
What are the promises?
- The promotion in the Government meeting of November 28 (Tuesday) of a Memorandum exempting CCNCF CFR SA from the application of the provisions of Law 296/2023 (Austerity Law, promoted by Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu) which limits the remuneration of the company’s employees
- The presentation and assumption by CNCF CFR SA by November 28, 2023 of a salary scale that reflects a gap consistent with the complexity and volume of work, respectively the importance and competence in the decision-making act
- The presentation by CNCF CFR SA by November 29, 2023 (Wednesday) of the 2023-2024 Collective Labor Agreement in order to sign, register with the authorized institution and, as a consequence, extinguish the collective labor conflict.

Regarding the actual strike notified to the National Railway Company CFR SA for November 27, 2023, the National Federation of Commercial Wagon Movement, affiliated to the National Trade Union Bloc, publicly communicates the following:
Considering the discussions held on November 23 and 24, 2023 with the leadership of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, respectively the leadership of the National Railway Company “CFR” – SA regarding:
- the commitments assumed by the leadership of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure regarding the promotion in the Government meeting of November 29, 2023 of a Memorandum exempting the National Railway Company “CFR” – SA from the application of the provisions of Law no. 296/2023 which limits the salary of the company’s employees;
- the presentation and assumption by Compania Nationala de Cai Ferate “CFR” – SA until November 28, 2023 of a salary scale that reflects a gap in accordance with the complexity and volume of work, respectively importance and competence in the decision-making act.
