Existence of unauthorized political parties: Mory Condé wants to separate the wheat from the chaff

The existence of unapproved political parties is prohibited by the Charter of Political Parties, until then tolerated by the State, but which Minister Mory Condé of Territorial Administration and Decentralization wants to put an end to.

It is in this context that he sent a letter to the various political coalitions asking them to provide him with the list of their members with the legal documents.

In the letter addressed to Rpg arc-en-ciel and allies that we consulted, Mory Condé demands that “copies of the approvals of the political parties active within it be submitted to him no later than December 4, 2023” while regretting that several political groups operate in the country without approval.

Reached by telephone, Thursday November 23, 2023, Lansana Komara, member of the political bureau of RPG Arc-en-ciel, did not wish to comment on this letter. According to him, he has not yet read its contents.

In Guinea, political parties are governed by organic law L/002/CTRN of December 23, 1991. bearing the Charter of political parties which indicates the conditions and formalities of their constitution as well as their rights and obligations.

This law confers on the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralization (MATD) a certain number of prerogatives, including those of suspending the activities and rights of a political party or dissolving it in specific cases and conditions.
