Researchers and Health Sciences professionals attended the event in hybrid mode to learn regarding the transformative projects carried out by our Corpista residents.
Last Friday, November 17, the first edition of the Comprehensive Family Medicine Congress of the Juan N. Corpas University Foundation was held at the Bogotá Plaza Hotel with the support of SOCMEF. This event, organized by the team of said specialization of our Medical-Surgical Postgraduate Programs and the School of Medicine, was a great meeting point to talk regarding multiple topics of research and scientific interest from the perspective of our residents and doctors who are part of such an important Corpista training program.
The congress was attended by our Lady Rector, Dr. Ana María Piñeros Ricardo, Dr. Luis Gabriel Piñeros Ricardo, Academic Vice-Rector and Director of the Specialization in Alternative Therapeutics and Plant Pharmacology, Dr. Juan David Piñeros Ricardo, Vice-Rector Administrative Officer of the Corpas, Dr. Otto Hamann Echeverri, Dean of the School of Medicine and Coordinator of the Specialization in Comprehensive Family Medicine, Dr. Francisco Hernández, Academic Coordinator of said specialization and Dr. Mónica Álvarez, Academic Coordinator of medical School.
During the course of the congress, professionals from the health sector who participated in the in-person and virtual modalities had the opportunity to learn regarding the results of the research initiatives of the residents of the Corpista Comprehensive Family Medicine Specialization on various topics such as: The challenge in Health which represents vaping, having a balanced life (diet and exercise), life plan and sexuality, among others.
To conclude the event, the discussion was held: “Vision of the Corpista Family Physician as a Graduate”, a panel that included the participation of our Lady Rector and a group of outstanding graduates of our specialization, who shared their experience and the knowledge they acquired during the course of their professional training at our institution.
For the Juan N. Corpas University Foundation, within the framework of the celebration of its first 50 years of history and the obtaining of High Quality Institutional Accreditation, the holding of the First Congress of Comprehensive Family Medicine is a great source of pride.
The Congress of Comprehensive Family Medicine represents the culmination of one of the great dreams of our Founder, Dr. Jorge Piñeros Corpas, who, upon inaugurating the specialization in the 80’s, always dreamed of holding such an event. magnitude so that it became the main stage for conversation regarding the past, present and future of Comprehensive Family Medicine.
