Belgium Winter Weather Forecast: Snow and Rain Predictions for the Next Week

After several rainy days in Belgium, winter precipitation will appear, mainly on the heights. Here is the forecast for the next few days.

During the night from Thursday to Friday, an area of ​​rain will cross the country from the Netherlands and the coast, leaving it towards the south-east at dawn. At the back, a few showers will follow which will mainly affect regions near the Netherlands and Germany. The maxima will be between 1 or 2 degrees in Hautes-Fagnes and 8 degrees in the west of the country. The wind will be moderate to locally quite strong from west to northwest with gusts of 50 to 55 km/h. At the coast, the wind will be quite strong to strong from the northwest with peaks of up to 65 km/h.

Sunday, cloudiness will be abundant throughout the day and a few more showers are expected at first. Then, the weather will become dry in the west and center of the country. In the east, on the other hand, the risk of a few showers will persist. On the heights of the Ardennes, these showers will take on a wintry character. The maximums will be between 2 degrees in the upper Ardennes and 8 degrees by the sea. The moderate westerly wind will return to the southwest over the hours.

Monday, a depression will shift from the British Isles towards the Alps. The active precipitation zone, which is associated with it, will lead to overcast skies in our regions with precipitation in the form of melting snow in the east, and snow above 300m altitude. In the western half of the country, it will mainly be rain, but which might turn into slush at the end of the day. The maxima will vary from 0 degrees in upper Belgium to +3 or +4 degrees in lower and middle Belgium. The wind will be moderate and will return from the south/southeast in the morning to the east by the evening.

Mardi, the weather will be cold but dry in most regions, with sunny spells. In the Ardennes, cloudy areas will be predominant and might release a few snowflakes. At the end of the day, a few wintry showers may occur in the northwest of the country. The maxima will be close to -1 degree in the upper Ardennes, +2 degrees in the center of the country and +4 degrees at sea, under an often moderate northeast wind. At the start of the day, it will freeze in many places and there will therefore be a risk of icy patches.

Wednesday, the weather will become variable with a few showers as well as clearings. In upper Belgium, precipitation will fall in the form of snow. In the plains too, they might, at times, adopt a winter character. The maxima will be close to -2 degrees in upper Belgium, +2 or +3 degrees in the center of the country and +5 degrees at sea. The wind will be moderate from north to northwest.
