In addition to the main production – Gaetano Donizetti’s “L’elisir d’amore” – the KulturBURG brings a cultural supporting program – mostly in the historic ballroom – with prominent participants. Günther Groisböck, Chris Lohner, Eduard Kutrowatz, Rafael Fingerlosthe Janoska Ensemble or the Vienna Boys’ Choir are just a few of the well-known artists that Unterreiner was able to win. Also there: the opera stars Ildiko Raimondi, Zoryana Kushpler, Susanna Chakhoian and Miriam KutrowatzUnterreiner himself will also let his voice be heard on several evenings.
This was also the case at the big summer concert “Unterreiner & Friends” on August 10th on the open-air stage with numerous guests of honor Yuri Revich bis Bo Skovhus, where donations are collected for “people in need”, or on the occasion of the Gars Choir Day on August 31st, when Beethoven’s Ninth is heard. The KulturBURG season starts on Mother’s Day 2024 (May 12th) with Unterreiner and Sunnyi Melles and ends with a song recital by Patricia Nolz on September 14th. The director attaches great importance to the fact that his sister is involved without a fee: “We are not a family business!”
Young musicians are also supported, for example students from the Salzburg Mozarteum or pianistic talents in cooperation with the music schools of the city of Vienna and the Piano House Förstl. Another pillar of the program offering in Gars is the “EventBURG” series, which includes: The Hurt stop off on their farewell tour and folkshilfe, Mnozil Brass, Klaus Eckel and Gery Seidl host. In any case, Unterreiner is confident regarding the future in Gars and has “many arrows in his quiver for the next few years”.
