2023 State Health Congress: Expert Solutions for Chronic-Degenerative Conditions

TOLUCAState of Mexico.- For the ninth consecutive year, the Social Security Institute of the State of Mexico and Municipalities (ISSEMYM) held the 2023 State Health Congress, with the motto: “Public health, a value of well-being”, in the that experts in the field shared solutions and alternatives to treat the diseases that patients present most in this institute.

In this regard, Jorge Guerrero Aguirre, Health Coordinator of said agency, pointed out that this Congress seeks to emphasize learning and updating basic and specialized knowledge of the main chronic-degenerative conditions that affect the population, including obesity, diabetes and hypertension, where doctors are the key element to confront these and other evils.

For his part, Guillermo Victal Vázquez, Director of Health Education and Research at ISSEMYM, indicated that during this academic space it was possible to enhance the capabilities of the medical professional.

In addition to valuing public health as a fundamental aspect of people, optimizing services “and being able to serve our beneficiaries with actions aimed at dignified treatment, improving care for those who go to the more than 115 medical units.”

“Public health must focus its efforts on prevention, to influence people’s health from this perspective, especially in the face of the rise of new and more complex diseases; hence the challenge of controlling, diagnosing in time and preventing,” he added.

The above, in the presence of Humberto Alegría García, Director of the ISSEMYM Toluca Regional Hospital and host of the event; Isabel Elvira Mucharraz García, President of the Mexican Academy of Medicine, AC; and Hugo Mendieta Zerón, Director of the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico, among other authorities

During the Congress, in person and virtual, there were presentations by José Luis Briseño de la Cruz, from the “Ignacio Chávez” National Institute of Cardiology; Juan Luis García Benavides, from the National Institute of Perinatology; Cuauhtémoc Leonardo Hernández Perales, from the “Dr. Nicolás San Juan.”

They also presented conferences with specialists from the ISSEMYM State Cancer Center, the ISSEMYM Toluca Medical Center, the Toluca Regional Hospital, the Maternal and Child Hospital, the Tlalnepantla Regional Hospital, the ISSEMYM Ecatepec Medical Center and the General Hospital of Mexico “Dr. “Eduardo Liceaga”.
