Joris Vandenbroucke has been in the Chamber since the start of this legislature, speaking mainly on subjects linked to mobility and taxation. He had previously served twice in the Flemish parliament, the first time between 2005 and 2009 then between 2014 and 2019. Former chief of staff of Flemish Minister Freya Van den Bossche, Joris Vandenbroucke is also a municipal councilor in Ghent.

His appointment was expected. He has already announced that he will continue Melissa Depraetere’s work in the House. “The stakes are high.
