Alfa Romeo Compact SUV: Latest on 100% Electric Version and Future Releases

2023-11-22 14:00:00

The Alfa Romeo compact SUV might be available in a brand new 100% electric version. Find out what we know.

After a somewhat sluggish period, Alfa Romeo is getting back on track and recently enriched its range with the Tonale, which was launched during the course of last year. The latter takes the form of a compact SUV, located under the Stelvio in the catalog. It is currently available in several petrol and plug-in hybrid engines. Because at the moment, we can’t really say that the manufacturer is very far ahead in electric vehicles, since it does not offer a single model equipped with this engine. But that should change soon.

Arrival possible

Indeed, the Italian manufacturer plans to launch its first zero-emission car over the next year, without saying too much at the moment. We know that the latter will also be entitled to a plug-in hybrid version, while the first model only available in electric will see the light of day a year later. But that’s not all, because the firm would also consider launching a version EV du Tonale. But this has not yet been definitively decided at the moment, even if this is technically entirely possible according to the brand.

What do we know?

In any case, this is what Daniel Tiago Guzzafame, Tonale product manager, says. The latter explains in fact that “ the architecture might technically support a purely electric version but this has not yet been decided“. Some changes have recently been made to the SUV, which includes new suspensions as well as slightly reworked steering. We should know more regarding the electric version a little later…
