Canadian National (CN) is launching an investigation following one of its trains collided with an exo train at Saint-Léonard station on Tuesday evening.

«Initial information indicates that there were no serious injuries or dangerous goods involved in the incident,” said Mathieu Gaudreault, director of Public Affairs for Canadian National (CN), by email.

For its part, the transport company exo confirmed that the collision took place at the Saint-Léonard station, in Montreal, on the exo15 – Mascouche line.

“It is too early to identify the cause of the incident,” Jean-Maxime St-Hilaire, spokesperson for the transport company exo, reacted by email last night.

The CN carrier, for its part, claimed to have moved responders and teams in order to shed light on the causes of this incident.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has also already indicated that it will send a team of investigators to gather information and assess the event.

“Train staff and passengers on the exo train were attended to by emergency services,” the spokesperson added.

He also indicated that there were no injuries to report.

“Users were taken care of by taxi services and shuttle buses so that they might complete their journey to their destination this evening,” Mr. St-Hilaire wrote by email.

It should be noted that all trains on the Mascouche line are canceled for the remainder of the evening of November 21, added Mr. St-Hilaire.
