On November 21, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Foreign Minister, held the first China-Uzbek Foreign Ministers Strategic Dialogue with Uzbek Foreign Minister Saidov in Beijing. The two sides had comprehensive and in-depth communication on implementing the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and strengthening the alignment of development strategies, reached broad consensus, and jointly announced the establishment of a strategic dialogue mechanism between the two foreign ministers.

Wang Yi said that China and Ukraine are friendly neighbors with a shared future. No matter how the international situation changes, China-Uzbekistan relations have always developed healthily and steadily and maintained strong vitality. China is willing to work with Uzbekistan to make good use of the new platform of the China-Uzbekistan Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue, promote all-round mutually beneficial cooperation, and accelerate the construction of a China-Uzbekistan community with a shared future. Wang Yi put forward four suggestions in this regard: First, build the belief of unity and mutual trust. The second is to create an engine for common development. The third is to deeply cultivate the public opinion of friendship from generation to generation. The fourth is to build a fortress of peace and stability.

Saidov said that Uzbekistan values ​​the strong mutual trust between the two heads of state and the good-neighborly friendship between Uzbekistan and China, supports the series of global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping, and will continue to abide by the one-China principle, firmly support each other, and deepen strategic mutual trust. Uzbekistan-China cooperation is mutually beneficial and win-win, which is crucial for Uzbekistan to accelerate its diversified development. Uzbekistan fully agrees with China’s suggestions and looks forward to comprehensively deepening all-round cooperation between the two countries and pushing Uzbekistan-China comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level.

The two sides stated that they will further strengthen collaboration within multilateral frameworks such as the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, promote the construction of China-Central Asia mechanisms, and safeguard regional peace, development, security and stability.

The two sides also exchanged views on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and other issues.
