Dubai Retirement Visa: Requirements, Qualifications, and Application Process

Dubai ∙ Dubai with retirement visa for those who have retired from work and lead a leisurely life. Retirement visa is issued for 5 years. Along with coming on your own, you can also sponsor your wife and children. Those above 55 years of age can apply. Applicants must have worked for at least 15 years in the UAE or elsewhere.

Qualifications for Retirement Visa:
∙ Should have a minimum income of 15000 dirhams following retirement. Or an annual income of 180000 dirhams. Or should have a savings deposit of not less than 10 lakh dirhams. Or should have properties worth 10 lakh dirhams.

∙ A fixed deposit of AED 5 lakh per annum (minimum 3 years of fixed deposit) Visa application should be made through General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in case of fixed deposit basis and through Dubai Land Department in case of property basis. Required Documents:
∙ Passport copy (of applicant, wife and children)
∙ Marriage Registration Certificate (if sponsoring wife)
∙ Copy of visa if current UAE resident
∙ Copy of Emirates ID
∙ Income proof if applying on income basis. Letter from Pension Authority in case of pension.

∙ 6 months bank statement.

∙ In case of investment basis – End of service letter received in respect of retiree.

∙ Letter from the bank. A letter must be given to GDRFA certifying that the investment of Dh10 lakh is for 3 years.

∙ If the property is deed – copy of deed. Certificate of ownership of the property in Dubai, worth AED 10 lakh and in the name of the applicant.

∙ If the property is in the name of any company then 100% share of the company should be in the name of the applicant. In case of a partnership company, the applicant should have a minimum shareholding of Dhs 10 lakh in the company. If the application is approved by GDRFA or DLD then a visa fee of AED 3714.75 is payable. This will include all visa related costs, entry permit costs, residency stamping, Emirates ID, medical examination and management fees.
