The President of the Republic, Nayib Bukele, inaugurated this followingnoon the Vijosa Laboratories megaplant, which will have the capacity to produce more than 8 million units of products every 24 hours, and which has been built with a private investment of more than $100 million.
“The investment made by Laboratorios Vijosa in this megaplant will improve access and coverage of medicines to Salvadorans,” said the president during the inauguration of the facilities.
In addition, he thanked the president of the company, Víctor Saca “for trusting this country and this Government.”
The plant becomes the largest laboratory in Central America, and the third largest in Latin America.
According to Saca, it is the first of its kind in the region to operate with renewable energy under a roof of 5,300 solar panels that generate 2,800 megawatts of electricity per year.
