Al-Marsad newspaper: The Public Prosecution investigator, “Ahmed Al-Muqahm,” revealed that the trade in camels, oud, and perfumes may be linked to money laundering crimes. Pointing out that regulations have been put in place for these activities.
He said during an interview with the “Fi Al-Sawra” program broadcast on the Rotana Khalijiya channel: “One of the most prominent areas of money laundering is activities that have no standard, that is, prices have no controls, whether at the level of oud, perfumes, or even camels.”
He added: “It is possible that someone used to buy oud for 10,000, and another person bought it for 100,000, and that was from the same merchant.” He continued: “There is a well-known merchant who was involved in a money laundering crime. He was arrested and the case is under investigation.”
He pointed out that these activities were organized to fill the gaps, and camel trade has become regulated, the sale process is recorded, and everything related to camels is documented.
