MORELIA, Mich., November 20, 2023.- A total of 10 thousand doses of anti-coronavirus (Covid 19) vaccine and 20 thousand anti-influenza vaccines will be applied in Morelia, starting on November 13 and throughout the winter season, said José Murguía Magaña, director of the Municipal Health Institute.
He detailed that in the facilities of the José Pilar Ruiz Neri health clinic, in the northern area of the city, in addition to modules in the Municipal Palace and the administrative center in the Los Manantiales neighborhood, and brigades that go to companies and schools.
Vaccines will be available to the general population, from the age of two, with priority for vulnerable groups, such as children under five years of age, older adults and pregnant women from the first trimester.
However, the anti-influenza vaccine will be administered first, because the anti-Covid 19 vaccine is not yet available in sufficient quantity.
Murguía Magaña mentioned that it is essential that the population be immunized once morest influenza and Covid 19, to seek to prevent serious illnesses or deaths due to these illnesses.
Likewise, he recalled the need to go to receive medical attention, in case of presenting respiratory symptoms to confirm or rule out Covid 19 or influenza, since monitoring is required to reduce the risk of both the spread of viruses and complications.
He said he was confident in the good coordination that exists between the Municipal Health Institute and Health Jurisdiction 1 to bring the roads closer to as many people as possible this winter season.
