A family in Mainland China blocked the road because they refused to be expropriated by the government. Therefore, the house had to be bypassed during road construction. This family was also known as the “strongest nail house” in the local area. It is reported that the local government has demolished it in accordance with the law.
According to Chinese media reports, a nail-biting household in Shuangshui Town, Jiangmen City, Guangdong, mainland China, refused to accept compensation from the government for expropriation, so he tyrannically stuck his house in the middle of the road, causing the road construction project to be suspended and delayed indefinitely.

Because this nail-biting household seriously affected the progress of the opening to traffic, and more importantly, caused safety problems, the construction unit might only reduce the 4-lane road to a 2-lane road to bypass the household. In order to ensure safety, the project builder launched a diversion plan and worked hard to complete the diversion and temporarily open it to traffic in early 2022.
The Xinhui District Government applied to the Jianghai District People’s Court for enforcement and filed the case on June 27, 2023. A hearing was held at the end of August. The demolition of the nail house had been approved by the local government on the 14th and 15th, and was finally completed on the evening of the 16th. Two-way 4-lane road is open to traffic.
