According to a recent study, metabolism does not change at all from 20 to 60 years of age. And then it does slow down, but on average by only 0.7% annually. Moreover, even menopause has no control over metabolism.

“Of course, there may be exceptions, and someone’s metabolism is initially different from the average, but even then you can always change the situation. And if you suddenly gain weight and you are under 60 years old, your metabolism has nothing to do with it. So people are given enough time to get their health in order,” explained endocrinologist Zukhra Pavlova on her personal blog.

The doctor advised not to look for excuses, but to take care of yourself: eat right, exercise and lead an active lifestyle.
