A 6-foot-2, 195-pound junior, Fox picked West Virginia over a list of many other suitors who offered college scholarships, including Akron, Boston College, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Indiana, Miami (OH), Michigan State, Minnesota and Toledo.
Fox is coming off a junior season in which he completed 162 of 276 passes (58.7 percent) for 2,275 yards and 22 touchdowns with 12 interceptions. Additionally, he carried 87 times for 353 yards and 11 touchdowns, though he ran the ball less as the season progressed as the Cardinals running game evolved.
Fox was named first team Division I all-district recently by the Ohio Prep Sports Writers Association, putting in line to be named an All-Ohioan in early December.
As a sophomore, Fox threw for 2,882 yards and 30 touchdowns with 143 rushing yards and three scores. He was second-team all-district and third-team All-Ohio.
