Research by scientists confirms the connection between nutrition and the likelihood of a person developing various diseases. Moreover, some diets can have a positive effect on cognitive function, said Alina Levina, a geneticist and bioinformatics specialist at MyGenetics.

According to her, one of the most effective diets recommended for preventing Alzheimer’s is the MIND diet. This diet is a combination of the Mediterranean diet and the DASH diet and is recommended for those suffering from hypertension.

Various studies suggest that following 4.5 years of eating the MIND diet, the likelihood of a person developing Alzheimer’s disease decreases by 53%. In addition, another study demonstrated a significant slowdown in cognitive function in subjects who followed the MIND diet for an average of regarding five years, Rossiyskaya Gazeta writes.
