It turns out that more than 100 objections have been filed once morest the 2024 College Scholastic Ability Test.
According to the Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation, there were 117 objections received over three days starting on the 16th, the day of the CSAT.
Even considering that the objection period lasts until the 20th, the number of applications is expected to decrease significantly compared to the 663 objections received last year.
By area, there were 34 social studies, 30 Korean, 24 English, 13 math, 11 science studies, 4 career studies, and 1 second foreign language/Chinese characters.
There were 5 objections to math question 22, which caused the ‘killer question’ controversy.
Among these, four were posted by two people, including one in which they expressed their opinion regarding multiple correct answers and errors in the question, and then withdrew their objection, claiming that the calculation was wrong.
There were 5 objections to English question 33, which was selected as a highly discriminating question.
There were opinions that multiple correct answers were possible as the passage was short and there were not enough arguments to support the correct answer.
There were also a series of complaints regarding the test site environment.
There were also complaints from test takers who took the test at a high school test center in Seoul where the end bell for the first period of the CSAT rang 1 minute and 30 seconds early, and from test takers who were assigned to a test center at a high school in Jeju City where the power went out regarding 5 minutes before the end of the first period.
It was also pointed out that despite the policy of excluding killer questions, there were some questions that were too difficult.
The Evaluation Institute will receive objections to the CSAT questions and answers on the objection bulletin board on its website until the 20th, and then announce the final correct answer at 5 p.m. on the 28th.
