2023-11-18 22:26:00

Germany lost 3-2 once morest Turkey on Saturday evening at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin in a friendly match, a worrying setback just under seven months before the opening match of Euro-2024 in Munich.

The Mannschaft had not lost once morest Turkey for more than 18 years (2-1 on October 8, 2005). We have to go back to mid-June 1951 to find any trace of a home defeat once morest the Turks.

Three nations in turn qualify for Euro-2024

The Germans once once more displayed their defensive shortcomings for coach Julian Nagelsmann’s first match at home. They conceded goals from Ferdi Kadioglu (38th), Kenan Yildiz (45th+2) and Yusuf Sari (71st, from the penalty spot). They opened the scoring through Kai Havertz (4th) and equalized thanks to Niclas Füllkrug at the start of the second half (49th).

Germany remained in three matches without defeat once morest France (2-1), the United States (3-1) and Mexico (2-2) since coach Hansi Flick was sidelined on September 10.

The Mannschaft travels to Vienna on Tuesday evening to face Austria, already qualified for Euro-2024 just like Turkey, while Turkey, whose coach is Vicenzo Montella, goes to Cardiff for its last qualifying match and secure first place in his group.

France makes short work of Gibraltar (14-0) and signs a new record
