Chinese fishing boat capsizes off Shimokoshiki Island, 5 of 26 crew members missing Kagoshima[11/18 20:49]
On the followingnoon of November 18th, a Chinese fishing boat capsized off the coast of Shimokoshiki Island in Satsumasendai City, Kagoshima Prefecture, leaving five of the 26 crew members missing.
According to the 10th Regional Coast Guard Headquarters, at around 3:50 pm on November 18th, a Chinese-registered fishing boat capsized approximately 330 kilometers west of Shimokoshiki Island in Satsumasendai City, Kagoshima Prefecture. The coordination center sent a request for rescue to the Japan Coast Guard.
There were 26 Chinese crew members on board the fishing boat, and 21 of them were rescued by another Chinese fishing boat nearby.
Jukan searched by aircraft until 8:00 p.m., but as night fell, the search was temporarily discontinued.
After this, the search will resume as soon as two patrol boats arrive at the scene.
