After controversy, Apple stops advertising on X (Twitter) again

According to new rumors, Apple had stopped running its campaigns on X (formerly Twitter) thanks to Elon Musk’s anti-Semitic post.

In a comment promoted on his social network, Musk claims that the American Jewish community has “impelled the same kind of dialectical hatred once morest white people that they claim they want people to stop using once morest them”.

According to information, Apple’s advertisements were broadcast adjacent to Musk’s post. The company’s supposed decision emerges one day following IBM took the same attitude, for the same reasons.

Furthermore, according to the international portal Media Matters, in addition to Apple and IBM, other large companies such as Amazon and Oracle also had their advertisements placed next to far-right posts.

After the portal’s statement, an X executive declared that the social network system does not purposely place ads from a certain brand close to this type of content. “No brand is actively trying to support this type of content with an ad placement,” he added.

In a post on her X account, the CEO of the social network, Linda Yaccarino, commented:

“X’s point of view has always been very clear that discrimination by everyone should STOP across the board — I think that’s something we can all and should agree on. When it comes to this platform — X too has been extremely clear regarding our efforts to combat anti-Semitism and discrimination. There is no place for it anywhere in the world — it is ugly and wrong. Period.”

The comments on Yaccarino’s post, however, question the congruence of his statement in relation to Elon Musk’s post and even raise the company’s attitudes towards other actions considered anti-Semitic.

Although Apple has not issued an official statement regarding the alleged action, the company’s advertisements on the X have indeed proven to be scarce.

It is worth remembering that since Elon Musk bought Twitter, in mid-November last year, he and Apple have had some clashes regarding the continuation of advertisements for Apple products on the social network, with Musk even stating that Apple would be threatening to remove the network app from its app store.

However, following Musk’s visit to the Apple campus, the billionaire’s tone changed. Musk even thanked Apple and Disney for continuing to be X’s biggest advertisers.
