From early morning to early morning today, the 17th, active rain clouds moved from western Japan to eastern Japan. There were places where it was pouring rain and heavy rain. Rain is expected to increase in northern Japan during the day and into the night.

Heavy rain of 49.0mm per hour (until 2:05) was observed in Gamota, Anan City, Tokushima Prefecture. In addition, heavy rainfall was observed mainly in areas along the Pacific coast from Kinki to Kanto, with rainfall of 29.0 mm per hour (until 6:03) in Nishikawa, Kozagawa-cho, Wakayama Prefecture, and 21.0 mm per hour (until 5:49) in Otaki-cho, Chiba Prefecture. The weather became stronger and the rain was pouring down in some places.
