Sega’s COO Shuji Utsumi talked regarding building the company’s IP outside of video games. With Sonic enjoying a successful renaissance in games and movie adaptations, the developer appears to be considering expanding its other major IPs into movies. “We just revived Sonic in a big way, not just through games but through movies and TV shows, and Sonic is in Roblox as well. We’re working very closely with Lego now. So now Sonic is getting a revival,” Utsumi told CNBC. “We have other major IPs, I can’t say too much, but we are also looking at reviving other classic Sega IPs. Currently, besides Sonic, there are two big IPs. One is Persona, and our Yakuza title Yakuza is really unique. But there’s also this big thing next year. But, like I said, we’re trying to get into a lot of different types of businesses, like Roblox and movies. All of these IPs will be out there outside of games very soon. elsewhere. Since Yakuza and Persona aren’t necessarily as well-known as Sonic, it might take a little more effort to adapt the movies into reality, but it’s clear that video game movies can be huge hits, as is the case with Super Mario Bros. Movie ” and as shown in “Five Nights at Freddy’s”. What would you like to see in a Yakuza/Persona movie?
