The Minister of Health and Population confirmed that this visit is an actual translation on the ground of all the discussions that took place since the first outbreak of events in the Gaza Strip, thanking his Turkish counterpart, the government, people and leadership of the State of Turkey for their great interest in saving the lives of our Palestinian brothers and providing them with medical support.

The Minister of Health and Population said that there is constant communication with the Turkish Ministry of Health on this file and with great support from the political leaderships of the two brotherly countries, stressing the depth of the strong relations that go back hundreds of years and bring together the two brotherly peoples and the presidents of the two countries in various fields.

The Minister of Health confirmed that Egypt is ready to receive any wounded and injured, in accordance with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in upholding the principles of brotherhood and humanity.

The minister pointed out that cooperation with the Turkish side takes place in light of achieving integration and human and material capabilities, as Turkey was one of the first countries to contact us to send medical aid to the Gaza Strip, in addition to Turkish doctors who provide medical services to the sick in Al-Arish hospitals.

During his response to the questions of journalists and correspondents of local and foreign channels, the Minister of Health and Population confirmed that Egypt is the only country that sought to save children with tumors in the Gharra sector and receive them for treatment. These are purely Egyptian efforts in evacuating, transporting and treating children inside Egyptian hospitals. The Minister also revealed the alert of the Egyptian Ambulance Authority. To prepare 35 cars equipped with baby incubators in preparation for rescuing newborn babies upon their arrival at the Rafah crossing at any time.

The minister said that, according to reports issued by international organizations, the death toll exceeded 11,000, and a child loses his life every 10 minutes in Gaza, in addition to 28,000 wounded, more than 2,000 oncology patients who do not receive treatment, and 350,000 chronic disease patients.

For his part, the Turkish Minister of Health expressed his happiness with his visit to Egypt, appreciating the constructive work he saw from the Egyptian government, explaining that Turkey feels responsible for the crisis facing the Palestinians, saying that “Egyptian-Turkish relations during this crisis are a wonderful example to be followed in cooperation between countries.” .

The Turkish Minister of Health also thanked the Egyptian state and Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar for his continuous and lasting cooperation since the beginning of the crisis, praising the efforts of the Egyptian side in the arrival of the first Turkish ship loaded with medical aid in the port of Al-Arish.

The Turkish Minister of Health noted that his country sent 10 planes and a ship containing 8 field hospitals, an equipped operating room, 20 ambulances, incubators, and electricity generators, as well as medical, relief, and living supplies that will be provided to the people of the Gaza Strip through Egypt, with a total of 666 tons.
