Specialists at the Irada and Mental Health Complex in Riyadh stressed the importance of enhancing the safety of patients and nursing service providers, and developing measurable vital indicators in order to develop nursing work in all mental health hospitals.
The Irada and Mental Health Complex in Riyadh witnessed the presence of a number of health practitioners and nursing staff from various hospitals in the Kingdom during its organization of the course (Modern Trends in Psychiatric Nursing: Nursing Care Plans for the Aggressive and Suicidal Patients) in cooperation with the General Administration of Psychological and Social Health at the Ministry of Health, which aims to Nursing staff in mental health complexes and hospitals at the Ministry of Health and private hospitals, which contributes to ensuring the provision of safe, competent and effective nursing care in line with national and international standards for patient-centered care.

Assistant Executive Director of Nursing Services Abdullah bin Hamoud Al-Yami explained that this course aims to improve nursing practices in the field of mental health and enhance the professional relationship between the patient and the nursing staff in a way that reflects positively on the beneficiary inside the hospital during his treatment period, as well as knowing the ideal, scientific and professional method for controlling aggressive patients. And knowing the scientific method for nursing evaluation of patients with suicidal tendencies and developing appropriate care plans for them. It targets members of the nursing staff at all levels in all mental health hospitals in the Ministry of Health and continues for two days and 7 training hours approved by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.

For his part, the Acting Executive Director of the Complex, Dr. Muhammad bin Mushabab Al-Ahmari, confirmed that the Complex is proud of all nursing staff and the roles they play in touching and sensing the needs of patients who tend to lack insight and awareness of their illness, as the efforts and services they provide are the backbone of the therapeutic and rehabilitative process in mental health hospitals. He extended his thanks and appreciation to all workers in the Nursing Services Department for this initiative and previous initiatives in holding such courses and seminars for nursing staff in the complex as well as mental health hospitals in the Kingdom.
