A Piece of Rainbow Named: Frani Elle

2023-11-16 09:00:00

How did this passion for performance come regarding?

Since I was little, I wanted to do shows, I did a scene in my room… I played back Celine Dion, I disguised myself with blankets that I put on like dresses. And above all, I sequestered my sister’s friends in my room so that they might watch the show! (Laughs)

How was Frani Elle born?

It was born from scratch during COVID… thanks to vintage clothes donated by my 80-year-old neighbor! I wanted to bring lightness and joy to people, so I started on TikTok then on Instagram making little videos during confinement.

And for the character who inspired Frani Elle?

For the character I was largely inspired by myself (Laughs). Frani, it’s just me to the power of 1,000! She is positive, caricatured, critical and completely crazy! (Laughs) I also drew inspiration from those around me, colleagues, family, friends… and also from the characters from “Catherine and Liliane” that I love! Are they Drags? They’re not Drags? We do not care ! But these are Ladies who are ready to fight for everyone and for more justice everywhere! And that’s why we love them!

Your videos have been a hit on social media! What relationship do you have with your community?

I was born on social networks and I am very attached to the people who follow me… it is thanks to them that I can exercise my passion today! I have a community that writes to me a lot and I have the impression that my community is like…(silence) a little family! I try to respond to all comments and DMs. I want to do good to people! I have no commercial contract on my social networks, it’s volunteer work! It’s really out of pure joy that I share my videos with my community, with whom I have a pretty strong relationship, it’s true!

What is your community anyway? Can you tell us more regarding them?

When we look at other Drags on the web, it is often a very Queer community because the content is very targeted. I offer content where everyone can relate! The topics I choose speak to everyone! I’m a bit of a drag queen for straight people! (Laughs) My audience today is an intergenerational community that brings together a wide diversity of profiles!

And very soon, we will see you with a show on stage! A dream come true?

A dream yes and above all a novelty that scares me. Coming to a show is engaging for the public: you have to organize yourself to come, sometimes take a nanny, often travel, buy tickets too… and it touches me a lot that the spectators do all that to come to me see. The first dates are already full, I don’t want to disappoint them! But I’m scared to death, yes! (Broad smile)

The serious question. Exactly Frani Does she have a message to convey to her audience?

Advancing mentalities… This is Frani’s greatest wish! The fact that I’m a Drag queen is already activism, Frani is an activist! But an activist who defends all causes, not just her own. More social justice, more ecology, less taxes. Frani, has everyone’s concerns! It’s not because we’re Drag that we’re locked into a straightjacket! But I also want to show that young homosexuals and the less young elsewhere have a place to take in society: theirs!

The final word. I am speaking to Frani Elle, the woman of heart, what advice would you give to our 2.0 generation who cannot find their place in our society?

I also experienced it… (Silence) I would tell them that you have to dare! We always wait for permission from others and… (Silence) I waited too long before doing Drag. People need to ask themselves this question every day: “What good can I do for myself today?” ”The answer is: do what you want to do deep down and above all never look back! (Smile)

This concludes our interview, sweet as a hug, with Frani Elle, the friend who wishes you well and whose journey on stage will be studded with glitter very soon… We are sure of it, Frani!
