ACV Puls Wins Case Against Krëfel: Salary Indexation Corrected

ACV Puls declared on Wednesday that it had won a case once morest Krëfel concerning the indexation of the salaries of employees of the household appliances store chain. According to the Christian union, the company’s management did not apply indexation correctly. Krëfel must therefore now rectify these errors and pay the difference to its employees.

Last April, the ACV threatened to strike on this subject. The union had in fact declared that it had discovered that the salaries of some 160 Krëfel employees and managers had not been correctly indexed. The Minister of Labor, Pierre-Yves Dermagne, then asked the social inspectorate to carry out an investigation.

The ACV claims to have won its case for an individual file. “The court confirmed the point of view of ACV Puls and decided that Krëfel was required to rectify these indexations,” underlines the union in a press release.

The ACV hopes that management will correct the salaries of all affected employees. If this is not the case, the union threatens to take other cases to court. In the meantime, an agreement on future indexations has already been reached, says Secretary General Michiel Van Opdenbosch.

The company can, however, still appeal the court’s decision, but management has not yet reacted on this matter.

Krëfel has 75 stores in Belgium. The chain is owned by French company Boulanger, part of the Mulliez family empire.
