Dominated in the first third, the Dragons took matters into their own hands from mid-match… but conceded a 4th goal which would be too many, despite Marchon’s success. Zug won 5-1 and took the lead in the standings.

It has been more than four years since the Dragons won at Bossard Arena. The last time was in November 2019. But as we must not live with the past, today’s trip looked pretty good following a big week of recovery. Certainly missing Mauro Dufner et Lucas Wallmark (ill), but this Gottéron-leader did not have to tremble once morest a well-controlled opponent at the end of September (5-2) at the BCF Arena.

This was without counting on a disastrous first third which saw the Zougois make the men of Christian Dubé, without reaction – as if tired – in the face of constant pressure and which led them towards a nightmare evening. We hadn’t played a quarter of an hour before the score was 3-0 without finding anything wrong with it.

The comments made in the locker room during the break had their effect. A few minutes to get the machine back up to speed and the Friborgs are completely back in the match. To the point that it’s a very good Leonardo Genoni in front of the EVZ nets who saved his team from the Friborg comeback that was looming. Suffice to say that the 4 to 0 signed Fabrice Herzog shortly before the second siren hurt a lot.

But Gottéron did not give up, came back very quickly to 4-1 thanks to Nathan Marchon (elected best Fribourgeois of the match, an honor that we will also co-attribute to Christoph Bertschy), but failed to materialize once morest local players who, without being dazzling, knew how to hold their bones. Despite the last forty minutes showing positive statistics, the Friborg residents conceded a fourth setback in a row.

It’s annoying following the break, embarrassing before receiving the red lantern Ajoie and especially annoying when losing first place in the ranking in favor of his evening opponent.
